Not-for-Profit Scholarship Recipient Variety - the Children's Charity of Alberta, Not-for-Profit Scholarship Recipient April 2022-23

As we are nearing the completion of our not for profit organization scholarship that we were awarded to participate in the Sandler Training course, I would like to extend my appreciation to our facilitators and the Sandler organization for this amazing opportunity!

A lot of people think that sales training is solely for profit organizations and that sales for a charity is counterintuitive and nonsensical, with charitable work associated with philanthropy rather than sales tactics. Yet sales training plays a necessary role for charities – especially in a competitive market where there are tens of thousands of charitable organizations doing great work but often competing for the same donation dollars to ensure sustainability and bring in necessary dollars to run their programs and services effectively.

Our experience with the Sandler Training courses was amazing. We learned about prospecting plans and how to fine tune our message for donor outreach. We learned about creating upfront contracts and their importance in creating expectations from the onset of a meeting. And we learned how to develop effective sales skills in our staff among many other learnings.

All in all, I believe the knowledge we will carry with us from our participation in this program, will allow us to strengthen our donor relationships and fundraising effectiveness and allow us to continue to make a positive difference in the lives of the vulnerable families that we support.

Thank you for choosing us. This has been an invaluable experience!

Not-for-Profit Scholarship Recipient PaceKids Programs - April 2021

As the 2021, Non-profit Scholarship Recipient, Pacekids Programs was afforded an opportunity to dive deeply into a proven selling system and implement formalized procedures that enhanced our focus on fund development. Supported by the engaging, fun, and passionate team of Sandler Calgary, our team was able to evaluate our current systems, and reimagine and refine our prospecting and cultivation strategies.

The Leadership program provide me with the invaluable opportunity to connect with other leaders across a variety of industries, and gain insight into relevant and timely techniques to better support my team and my organization.

I am grateful for the time spent with Hamish and the incredible Sandler Calgary team and will carry lessons learned from this scholarship with me throughout my professional career.

I was fortunate to be welcomed into 2021/22 Sandler through the not-for-profit scholarship. The whole Sandler team challenged me to re-think my process and to consider if I even had a process to begin with! The chance to roleplay in training ensured that I could really make the Sandler system work to my strengths and in the charitable world. I have spent the last year being supported by the wonderful Sandler Calgary team and my cohort in training to become a better professional.

Being from a not-for-profit, I was not sure how this training would adapt - and, I am so delighted to say it is totally adaptable, responsive and engaging! I have learned so much already! I really enjoy the challenge of looking at selling/fund raising in a new light. Thanks! I highly recommend this training!

Not-for-Profit Scholarship Recipient - April 2017

I really appreciate the better approach to sales that the Sandler Selling System has given us. It’s fantastic that we, as a not-for-profit were able to participate in a year-long scholarship program and receive valuable training through a structured approach, role playing, and weekly reinforcement. The program has enabled Kinetica Ventures to build out our sales capability and drive our business forward. I encourage everyone who wants a better sales approach to take a look at Sandler.
